Aliah Yacoub is an AI and philosophy scholar. She is currently the Artificial Intelligence Philosopher and Head of techQualia, the qualitative research and development arm of Synapse Analytics which is a leading AI and data company. As a critical technologist, Aliah's work primarily focuses on the ethical implications of emerging technologies on society and, more specifically, the Global South. Her research interests include employing existential phenomenology to explore body-mind entanglement in machine consciousness and the capacity for artificial general intelligence (AGI) approximation. Aliah establishes Tech Qualia, the region's first interdisciplinary AI platform.
Aliah's professional journey commenced as a field researcher at CB3 - Ministry of Environment, where she spearheaded initiatives to mainstream environmental issues in education systems and foster community engagement. She authored a comprehensive guide on environmental issues and the Rio Conventions, which has since become a cornerstone of environmental awareness in six international schools across Egypt.
