Etienne F. Augé is a writer and scholar. He received his doctorate in history from Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris, and and has taught in universities and film schools in Austria, Czechia, Lebanon, and Slovakia. He was invited to lecture at the University of Oxford (UK) and is now a principal lecturer at Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Etienne’s research interests include cinema, propaganda, futures studies, science fiction, and public diplomacy. He regularly trains diplomats at the Clingendael Diplomatic Academy in The Netherlands, and worked at the French embassy in Beirut.
Etienne has given talks on science fiction and how to use it in education at several international events, including TEDx (Rotterdam and Cyprus), and for the University of the Netherlands. Etienne has written and translated books on propaganda, cinema, and Lebanon. His novel, “Loubnan”, was published in 2014 and he will publish a book on superheroes in Fall 2023.
