Nour Diar Bakerli is a seasoned professional in publishing and cultural programs. Presently, she serves as the Acting Publishing Programmes Section Head at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, bringing forth over a decade of rich experience in this domain.
Her professional journey commenced with her role as a volunteer archaeologist at the Directorate-General of Antiquities and Museums of Syria. Transitioning into the museum realm, Nour made significant contributions to the National Museum of Aleppo. Her responsibilities went beyond object registration and exhibition designing. She actively contributed to educational seminars and engaged in volunteer preservation and restoration endeavors.
In 2014, Nour embarked on a new chapter with the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi. She ascended through the ranks, transitioning from her role in the Sheikh Zayed Book Award Department to ultimately leading the Publishing Copyrights & Agreements Unit. Her journey culminated in her current role as the Acting Publishing Programmes Section Head.
Nour's academic journey commenced at the University of Aleppo, where she attained a bachelor’s degree in archaeology. Continuing her pursuit of knowledge, she pursued studies at the University of Oxford, Department for Continuing Education, delving into the origins of human behavior. Furthermore, Nour augmented her academic credentials with archaeological fieldwork experience certificates from esteemed institutions such as the University of Cambridge, Université Lumière Lyon 2, and the University of Basel.
